Welcome to the Southern Maryland Youth Lacrosse Association (SMYLA)!  We are a boys youth lacrosse league spanning five counties from St. Mary's to Fredrick County Maryland.  We provide an outstanding lacrosse experience for boys ages 7 to 15 years old.  We currently have twelve teams in our league with four distinct age groups: Bantams (U9), PeeWee's (U11), Midgets (U13) and Juniors (U15). 

The age group for which a young man participates depends on his age as of SEPTEMBER 1ST of the previous year.  The Southern Maryland Youth Lacrosse Association is broken into two separate and distinct divisions.  The Chesapeake and Potomac divisions group organizations where they will compete against other organizations of similar skill sets.

Our league champions are determined through participation in a single-elimination tournament at the end of our season.  Each team is seeded in the tournament according to their overall season record.  The SMYLA Tournament is hosted in Bowie MD the weekend before Memorial Day each year.
